World Travel 101

Safe, inexpensive world travel is possible. Let us show you how at “World Travel 101”. First time or novice international travelers, no matter where you want to go, will learn how to prepare for a budget trip overseas. Topics include: planning an itinerary, transportation options, saving and carrying money, packing, accommodation, safety, and more. Depart from the familiar and begin your adventure with World Travel 101!

Traveling to Europe does not have to break your budget! Hostelling International will show you how to have a great time in Europe without coming home broke. This class will show travelers of all experience levels how to prepare for and plan a trip to Europe on a limited budget by taking advantage of hostels, discount airlines, rail travel, and inexpensive activities. Topics include: planning, transportation, money, packing, accommodation, safety, and more. Get ready to take on Europe without emptying your wallet! This class is taught by expert traveler Alana Walter of HI-Austin.

  

Cultural Kitchen

Our Cultural Kitchen program gives middle and high school students an opportunity to learn about other countries and cultures in a fun and innovative way. The program is a two part process that teaches participants about hostelling, identifying cultural norms, and respecting other cultures. Students study various aspects of a selected country, including the cuisine. They work as a team to prepare a meal and an interactive presentation at the Austin Hostel.
